My Biking Journey

Amish Pennsylvania

The Curse of Technology

“Computers are useless. They can only give you answers.”
Pablo Picasso

The day had come. The blood, the sweat, and the tears finally payed off. I had qualified, qualified for a tennis event in which you represented your region inside of the USA. I trained every day, and fought every weekend just to arrive to one place. This place was Amish Pennsylvania. I woke up at 5 AM, excited for the day ahead. I was put up with the difficult task of sitting in the car for 7 hours, while my lucky dad, just had to drive. (Just kidding). We spent hours on highways, and public roads, but really the only roads we remember, are the hilled roads of Amish Pennsylvania. Every time we drove these roads, your stomach would drop as if you were strapped into a rollercoaster. We spent time in Amish Pennsylvania, away from technology. This time may have just been the most fun I had ever had. So that shiny new, iPhone or IPad, will hide the best times in your life. So put your phone down, and enjoy your time with your friends, and family. Instead of spending your days rotting away on your devices.

This was fun and short, and it was cool how you added little interjections like "just kidding" to keep it interesting and also give the piece some life. I also liked how you portayed the iPhone and iPad as "shiny," which is a creative way of showing how they may seem cool and new, but really degrade us if we get too absorbed in them.

You got across everything you needed to quickly. As someone prone to verbose flourishes and run-on sentences, I wholeheartedly admire you for it and wish I could do the same. I also think that your choice of a quote was excellent.
