Christmas in Lowell

Think about others before yourself. I love Christmas and it is something that I look forward to every year. Every year I and my family celebrate Christmas, and it’s always a day filled with excitement laughter and fun. This year was no different, except for the fact that I learned a major lesson that will impact me for the rest of my life. On December 25th, of 2017, I ran down the green and red decorated stairs at home, in hopes of getting the best Christmas present ever. The thought of others didn’t even slip my mind. I ran down the stairs sat down and waited for my brothers and sisters to meet me. When my parents came, it was time to start. The first gift that was given to me were the lebron 10 soldiers. I was so excited when I got this and I felt great. Then my brothers and parents gave me gifts, and before I knew it I was the only one who hadn’t given a gift to someone. When we were done giving out gifts, I felt bad because I didn’t give anybody any gifts. Coming into Christmas, I was so excited to get all my presents, but I never thought about my family. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have those presents, and I would be very sad. I wish i was as mature as I am now back then as I would’ve been able to understand the importance of giving, and that it’s nice to give gifts out instead of receiving them all the time. When receiving gifts, think about others, as the happiness you get from your gift will also bring happiness to the person you gift.
