Asian racism has been underrated, yet normalized. In my own experience as a Chinese student in America, I am angry that eight Asian Americans were killed in the Atlanta Spa. I have experienced a couple cases of  Asian stereotypes on myself. This were not intentional, but it was still hurtful. Anything that is hurting others feelings should be changed. We, as Asian Americans, should stand up to all those who show discrimination, injustice, and hatred just because we are Asian.

Since class size is usually smaller in private schools, students more likely than not will receive more attention from the teachers. What helps students the most in private schools is individual attention and a teacher’s help. Respect is when you give admiration someone for something they did unusual or extraordinary. I have great respect for the job of teachers , since they basically affect how a kid learn new things and control the environment of a school. Respect does not have to be anything special, you can just say thanks when the teachers did you a flavor or something.

A Scary Ride Home

Riding up hills on a bike is free and challenging. Riding back to my house on Monument Street always makes me feel good about myself. Last night , around 11:00 pm, I had just finished practicing basketball at the Fenn gym. I closed all the light and decided to ride back in the dark instead of calling home for a ride. So, I got on my bike, put on my helmet that has a light switch on the back, and I started riding home from the gym.

Stop thinking about it. Just do it...

Accept the challenges, so you could feel the exhilaration of victory.

What exactly is a challenge? For some, it is climbing the highest mountain; for some, it is getting up early in the morning; and for some, it is taking a long walk. Do something under pressure, do something hard and boring because taking on challenges is what makes you better and separates normal from greats. If you want to improve your life, you take on challenges, learn from your mistakes, and stop making excuses.

The Madness of Captain Ahab

Captain Ahab, all of this is madness.  The whale has taken your leg again.  begged Starbuck. Ahab turned away.  Then he spoke. “This hunt was rehearsed by you and me a billion years before this ocean came to be.  Fate cannot be changed!

Moby Dick, written by Herman Melville, is an adventure novel set on a whaling ship in the the 19th century. People were trying to obtain whale oil to provide fuel for their lamps, machines and technologies. However, their excessive killing angered the king white whale. On a previous trip to capture the whales, the Captain, Ahab, lost his leg to a white whale, which fueled his desire for revenge and  to kill the white whale. 

     Ahab is willing to risk his his life and his crew’s life to get his revenge. His crew still respected his behavior. In the final chapter, Ahab and his crew are trying to kill the white whale; however, it was the whale who killed Ahab.

Sports & Workouts

Practice doesn’t make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

I do not need to prove anything because I am already am confident enough. I know I will not fail because putting in the effort is my first goal. Everything else is my reward. Outcomes determines if you did good or if you did poorly. I can only let my work speak for myself. I don’t need to speak for my work. My confidence makes me calm. Practicing  The outcome is determined by the time you put in. I work out every day to make myself stronger, and I practice everyday to make myself better in my three major passions—basketball, rowing, and swimming.
